This summer, the Anthropology Department plans to offer one local experiential learning half-course and three online half-courses. Anthropology reading courses are also available and applications will be available in the coming months.

Experiential Learning

Summer Day term: July 8 - August 16, 2019

ANTHRO 3343A/FNS 3306A - Language Revitalization in Practice

This experiential learning course offers students the opportunity to study current issues in language revitalization through participation in collaborative research projects on site with the Oneida Nation of the Thames, with whom Prof. Granadillo has been working on language revitalization for several years. Projects will vary depending on the needs of the community and the skillset brought by the students. It will be of interest to students in Anthropology, First Nations Studies and Linguistics.

Summer Evening

Readings in Anthropology

Readings in Anthropology is a course of independent reading and research studying current interests in Anthropology. Students are to make arrangements with a faculty member in the Department of Anthropology and submit an application to the Undergrad Chair for final approval. 

For third or fourth year students:
  May 6 to June 14, 2019.
  June 17 to July 26, 2019

For fourth year students:
ANTHRO 4430F: 
May 6 to June 14, 2019.
  June 17 to July 26, 2019.

Deadline: Applications must be submitted and approved before the start date of the term.

Note: Students are permitted to only one reading course in the spring/summer term.
