Research Interests
My main interest is labour migration. The focus of my research has been temporary international labour migration from the Caribbean to Canada, specifically agricultural workers who travel from the Eastern Caribbean Island of Saint Lucia to live and work on farms in Ontario. This focus includes questions about the role of the Canadian state and its immigration requirements, the ways in which Ontario growers organize their labour needs, the experiences of Caribbean employees working in Ontario, and the effects of labour migration on both the Caribbean and rural Ontario.
