Undergraduate Programs in Anthropology

The Anthropology and First Nations Studies programs offer a wide range of courses each year. While not all courses are offered every year, course offerings are organized to ensure students in all fields of study have access to both required and specialist/elective courses each academic year.

The links below open the timetables for the current academic year.

You should check your personal timetable against this list to ensure you have the most up to date information on class times and locations.

How To Read Your Timetable

The course numbers on the timetable use a system of suffixes to indicate term and type of course. Familiarize yourself with these suffix designations:

  • A. 0.5 [single term] non-essay course offered in first term.
  • B. 0.5 [single term] non-essay course offered in second term.
  • F. 0.5 [single term] essay course offered in first term.
  • G. 0.5 [single term] essay course offered in second term.
  • E. 1.0 [full year] essay course.
  • No suffix. 1.0 [full year] non- essay course.

While all courses may have significant essay requirements as part of the course work, designated essay courses require students to exhibit some minimal level of competence in essay writing and the appropriate level of knowledge of the content of the course. Only designated essay courses -- suffixes F/G or E -- can be used to complete essay course requirements for particular programs.
