Our Department

At Western, we have one of the most balanced four-field Anthropology departments in Canada. These four subfields structure our undergraduate modules and courses, as well as our graduate programs (MA and PhD). Our outstanding faculty across the subfields contribute to our collective research strengths in anthropological perspectives on the following areas: the environment; bodies and health; human relations, inequality, and power; and individual, social, and cultural identities.

Outreach Team

We have an amazing Outreach Team that goes above and beyond to promote Anthropology and its subfields, in general, and our Department, in particular, among the Western student body, local elementary and high school students, and the broader public. The team runs workshops, organizes interactive learning events (e.g, High School Anthro Day), and shares educational content that can be incorporated into classrooms.
