Add/Drop Information
Early in the summer you will receive a course pre-registation form with a list of all the Anthropology graduate courses that will be offered in the coming year. You should consult with your interim advisor/supervisor to help you select your courses. Please email or hand in your completed course registration form to the Graduate Program Assistant (SSC 3324).
It is your responsibility to ensure you are registered in all your selected courses, including the Audit course, Anthropology 9010A/B (Research Seminar). To check on your registration, go to the Student Center to view your registered course listing. If there are any discrepancies, report this immediately to the Graduate Program Assistant anthro-grad-assistant@uwo.ca.
- Anthropology & Required courses: You should speak with your interim advisor/supervisor to help you select all your necessary courses.
- Undergraduate courses: Normally, graduate students cannot take undergraduate courses for credit toward a graduate degree. Exceptions may be made if the supervisory committee determines that a course is necessary for the student's program. For Graduate Students taking undergraduate courses, including audits, you must wait until the undergraduate paper add/drop period to add the course. Approval from the undergraduate instructor must be initialed in both areas of the form before submitting to the Graduate Program Assistant.
- Non-Anthropology Graduate courses: The most up-to-date information about courses offered by other graduate programs can be found on the websites of those programs. Graduate students taking graduate courses outside of Anthropology must obtain an Add/Drop form. Approval from the instructor must be initialed on the form. It is recommended that you submit this form no later than September 15 for the fall term, and January 15 for the winter term.
- Auditing courses: Audits are NOT counted towards a degree. Audits for undergraduate courses are not covered in your regular tuition amount. Auditing an undergraduate course is pprox.: $268 for Domestic students; $1215 for International students, per half course (subject to change according to SGPS). This course will also show on your transcript with an 'AUD' in the grade area.
